嘉宾简介：Monier studies climate change and its impacts on various ecosystem services and sectors of the economy, with a focus on the fate of the managed and natural land system. He is an expert in the coupled human and Earth system, the food-energy-water nexus and integrated assessment modeling. He investigates how the land responds to climate change and how land management impacts the climate system. He also combines observational data with machine learning techniques to improve upon the skill and predictability of climate impact models. His work is grounded in uncertainty quantification, probabilistic impact assessments and risk analysis. He was a major contributor to the Climate Change Impacts and Risk Analysis (CIRA) project led by the US Environmental Protection Agency, in support of the Obama administration’s Climate Action Plan.
